Want another way to quickly evaluate your “energy level” or vibrational state?
Jim Rohn, among others, has stated (expounded) that we become like the 5 people we spend the most time with. These could be people you talk with all the time, work with, socialize with, speakers you listen to, authors you read, musicians, artists or entertainers whose work you surround yourself with. Think about that.
Reflect on and consider journalling about the 5 people you “spend” the most time with. What are they like? Do they complain frequently, bitch and moan about their situation and other people, love to talk about how they’ve been wronged? Do they see the silver lining in situations and always seems to find the good in others? Do they talk about problems or possibilities? Are they focused on their own needs and desires most of the time, or do they seek to add beauty, encouragement, love and value to the world much of the time? What colors do you associate with them? Bright, light, vibrant ones? Dark, muted tones?
When you leave their presence, do you feel lighter, more positive, encouraged and hopeful? Do you feel bitter, sarcastic and cynical? Self-righteous and judgmental? Peaceful and kind?
Looking over your reflection, are you happy with the way they influence your energy? Do they help you become more of the person you desire to be? Would it be helpful to change the amount of time you spend with a person, or remove them from your life, at least for now?
Are there others in your world that perhaps uplift more, that reflect more of where you want to be energetically or whose character traits you would like to develop more of in yourself? Can you find ways to bring more of them into your life? Make time for those people? Invite them to be part of your inner circle?
Isn’t it a beautiful thing that we have free will? That we can consciously choose our influences? That we can develop relationships that add to our growth and becoming?
