I started this discussion on energy by reflecting on that child-like energy and the feelings that evokes. The innocence, the joy, the carefree present moment delight. The ability to rest and trust that all will be well. Let’s explore some of what the word “energy” or energy medicine can represent now. Related terms might be spiritual state, vibrational level, aura, maybe fruit of the spirit (or spirit vs. flesh). Let’s use that neutral word, energy/vibration. Why are we exploring vibrational states?
In the past several decades, much research has been done in the scientific community on the mind-body connection. What has been discovered is that our mind, our thoughts and our feelings create emotions and messengers of emotion that interact with every cell of our body. These chemical messengers translate those thoughts and feelings into information for our cells! Our cells have receptor sites all over them just waiting for information from outside. When they receive information, they respond accordingly. Two resources to explore this in depth are Dr. Bruce Lipton, The Wisdom of Our Cells and The Biology of Belief and Candace Pert, Phd, Molecules of Emotion.
So what does this have to do with our energy, vibration and state of being? Each thought and feeling we have either adds to our wellness or takes away from it. Our energetic state or level could be likened to a thermostat which registers the overall “setting” of our normal state of being. This somewhat consistent state becomes wired into our physical bodies and experience. And there gives feedback which reinforces those beliefs that were sent out.
Mind-blowing, isn’t it? And so cool! Because we are CAPABLE of shifting our state by working with our habitual thoughts and feelings (our beliefs). This ripples out to our physical bodies, our energy AND what we attract more of and experience.
All of us have our thermostat set somewhere. The reasons for our current setting can be varied. Release yourself from any judgement about your current setting. It is not right or wrong. However, an honest assessment and awareness of your current state can be SUPER helpful to beginning to move to a more desirable state.
- When you first wake up in the morning, which vibrational emotional level do you find yourself in?
- As you go throughout your normal day, on what level do you tend to hang out the most?
- Which level to your closest friends and associates play on?
- Finally, where do you want to be?
One really helpful thing to note is that each of us CAN more from the lowest state to the highest. HOWEVER, it is a scale and will be more likely that we shift one or two levels at a time. Throughout this month, we’ll look at WHY our vibrational emotional state matters so much. In addition, I’ll share fun and powerful resources and tools that can assist you in the shifts you desire to make.
Finally, realize that while it’s human nature to want to evaluate OTHERS in our lives, the ONLY vibrational state we have full responsibility for is our OWN.
